W9 Survey on Progress

My progress is improving from where I was at a couple weeks ago. I had missed a whole week of assignments because I had stuff going on but I'm definitely on a better track now. If I just keep on completing my assignments on time and do some of the extra credit here and there, then I should be okay. The class assignments I enjoy most are the reading notes because the reading can be very interesting sometimes. I've done more than a few extra credit assignments up  until now and I plan on to continue doing them to improve my grade. 
For the second half of the semester, I'll participate in conversations more and catching up with the classmates I've left blog comments on. Mistakes I'll be avoiding is thinking missing one assignment won't hurt my grade because then I'll keep letting assignments slide. Next thing you know I'll be missing a whole bunch of assignments and that's something I definitely don't want to happen, so I'll for sure avoid that mistake. I want to try and complete all my weekly assignments at the beginning of the week rather than at the end of the week because I always feel so overwhelmed with all my other school work. I'll  try and get ahead of my school work so I don't have to worry about those assignments later on.

1. Literary Elements - Sor Juana Ines De La Cruz's poem, "Philosophical Satire," sets a strong tone in her writing and her tone will be the literary device I will discuss for this analysis. Week 14 Analysis: Lispector

Close Reading on Clarice Lispector's, "The Daydreams of a Drunk Woman" (808-814) The thing that intrigues me about this reading is the use of simile's and imagery. Lispector creates these vivid images in your head when speaking because she describes the situation so clear. For example, when the husband and the kids leave the woman home alone, she says, ""Oh what a succulent room! Here she was, fanning herself in Brazil. The sun, trapped in the blinds, shimmered on the wall like the strings of a guitar" (810). I like this quote because at least for me, I can perfectly image this scenery in my head and it give me a snip of what this story is like in reality. This story, "The Daydreams of a Drunk Woman," reveals deeper possibilities in this woman. She is unhappy and full of rage.
