Growth Mindset W15: My Acronym

For this growth mindset challenge, I chose to make up my own acronym. I decided to make up:

Learning
Is
Forever
Essential

Obviously this acronym spells out LIFE and that's because I think life is full of learning opportunities that can forever help you grow as a person.

    Hi Alissa! I think its really great that you took the time to do the extra credit and do the Growth mindset extra credit. I really like your acronym because it really applies to everything in life and I completely agree that life is full of learning opportunities that can help you grow as a person. The experience of life is one of the greatest things to learn from in this world and personally, I feel I have learned from life and having plenty more to learn. Great job!

    Hi Alissa! Your acronym really stuck out to me, it's so clever and inspiring. It's also a great reminder that learning isn't something you can tick of on a checklist and say you're done with, it is a life long experience that it important to your growth as a person. We can all aspire to continue to better ourselves, no matter how much we've learned or how far we've come. Thanks for the great phrase, and good luck in your other classwork!

1. Literary Elements - Sor Juana Ines De La Cruz's poem, "Philosophical Satire," sets a strong tone in her writing and her tone will be the literary device I will discuss for this analysis. Week 14 Analysis: Lispector

Close Reading on Clarice Lispector's, "The Daydreams of a Drunk Woman" (808-814) The thing that intrigues me about this reading is the use of simile's and imagery. Lispector creates these vivid images in your head when speaking because she describes the situation so clear. For example, when the husband and the kids leave the woman home alone, she says, ""Oh what a succulent room! Here she was, fanning herself in Brazil. The sun, trapped in the blinds, shimmered on the wall like the strings of a guitar" (810). I like this quote because at least for me, I can perfectly image this scenery in my head and it give me a snip of what this story is like in reality. This story, "The Daydreams of a Drunk Woman," reveals deeper possibilities in this woman. She is unhappy and full of rage.
