Weekly Review: Extra Credit is My Best Friend

This week wasn't too bad with assignments, even though the semester is coming to an end, I didn't have too much work. I think all my work is pretty spread out for all 5 of my classes so it makes things easier. My due dates for work are all on different days which is helpful for me because I can take one step at a time with each assignment. I completed every single extra credit assignment this week because I know I missed some readings in the past, so I'm just trying to make up for it.
I didn't really have a favorite reading this week. Usually one story sticks out to me but for some reason, this week was kind of boring.
I read some great analysis of my classmates this week. I think everyone writes in a different style and I think that's cool because you learn different techniques when reading them. It's interesting to what my classmates have to say about some of the readings. They make me think of things I've never thought of before. I enjoy reading other people's reading notes so it gives me an idea on what the readings are about.
There's 2 weeks left of the semester and I could not be happier! I'm so ready for summer. Next week, Week 16, I hope to get everything done on time. I especially want to complete all the extra credit assignments again because those can help a lot even if you don't think you need the extra help, it doesn't hurt to do them. In case you ever fall behind, you can always rely on extra credit. I'm so grateful this class offers extra credit each other. It would be nice if all classes did that. Anyways, I hope these next 2 weeks fly by.

1. Literary Elements - Sor Juana Ines De La Cruz's poem, "Philosophical Satire," sets a strong tone in her writing and her tone will be the literary device I will discuss for this analysis. Week 14 Analysis: Lispector

Close Reading on Clarice Lispector's, "The Daydreams of a Drunk Woman" (808-814) The thing that intrigues me about this reading is the use of simile's and imagery. Lispector creates these vivid images in your head when speaking because she describes the situation so clear. For example, when the husband and the kids leave the woman home alone, she says, ""Oh what a succulent room! Here she was, fanning herself in Brazil. The sun, trapped in the blinds, shimmered on the wall like the strings of a guitar" (810). I like this quote because at least for me, I can perfectly image this scenery in my head and it give me a snip of what this story is like in reality. This story, "The Daydreams of a Drunk Woman," reveals deeper possibilities in this woman. She is unhappy and full of rage.
